ICT @ Wortley High

All of our year 7, 8 & 9 pupils have a 1 hour discreet lesson of ICT per week. They are following the National Strategy for ICT – solving problems and being challenged in a variety of ways. As well as learning the basics of text processing, spreadsheets, graphing, modelling and database management, pupils use sophisticated software to monitor and control systems.

All year 7,8 & 9 lessons are delivered using a full range of interactive multimedia content, thus keeping the pupils motivated and interested in the subjetc.

In years 10 & 11, all pupils have 2 lessons per week.In this time, they follow a a variety of qulifications depending on their ability. We currently offer the DiDA & OCR Nationals range of qulifications. These comprise of a mixture of projects which are internally marked and externally moderated.

Both these qualifications can lead to 4 GCSEs depending on which pathway the pupil is on.

Post 16 offers the Applied ICT single award, taught over 4 lessons a week.
